BEHS 991 – Yasha

Yasha loaded and trailered quietly when picked up. She leads, but very hesitantly and rears fairly often when in new situations/surroundings. She demonstrates significant separation anxiety when taken very far away from Sozo (BEHS-989). When being led she is best behaved if she can follow Sozo closely. She is well behaved in the stall at night and in the pasture during the day. She was extremely wary during her first hoof trim. Although she stood fairly quietly for trimming of her fronts, the backs were quite a bit more challenging – and she kicked once and reared several times. Slow and steady won the race, and we’re hopeful this will improve with repetition. Because Yasha rears when scared, she’s spending time with trainer Benjamin Arreguin for ground work. He's been saddling her as well and has ridden her some, but she's began laying down when saddled when she doesn't want to be ridden. She's available right now only to a very experienced rider/trainer. If not adopted at the event, she'll be going to another trainer for additional training.
