About Promise

Promise was removed from negligent owners by animal control. She was rehabilitated and then placed with Bluebonnet by the SPCA of Texas. She was not broke to ride, so she was enrolled in the professional division of the Bluebonnet Rescue Horse Training Challenge. She did well at the Challenge and was adopted by someone who had met her at her previous foster home. She was returned in April 2018 because she was too much horse for her adopter. She spent time with a trainer and then with a new foster home in 2019. She was diagnosed with kissing spines and adopted by her foster home. She's been treating Promise's kissing spines and she's doing well! We're excited to see what they accomplish together.

Evaluation and Training

Promise was not broke to ride when she arrived at Bluebonnet. She was started under saddle but then began bucking, and we discovered that she had kissing spines. She is sound when not ridden but will not be able to be ridden in the future. She's a very pretty mare who will make someone a nice pet and companion to other horses.
