About Memphis
When Memphis arrived last year, he was emaciated and covered with severe sunburns (most likely due to eating a toxic plant that cause an extreme sensitivity to the sun). I thought it would take years before he healed, but after about six months most of his skin had healed and left him with just a couple of small scars. After his physical rehab completed, Memphis was adopted but was a bad fir for his adopter and was quickly returned. He went to a riding home and turned out to be green but nice under saddle. He's been adopted as a lesson horse - and his future is bright! Congrats to Memphis and to the children and adults he will teach! And thank you to Linda K for your hard work getting him ready for his new home!
Evaluation and Training
Memphis is a quiet horse who seems to get along well with most other horses. He leads, stands tied, and longes. He carries a saddle and bridle and knows how to give to a snaffle bit. He has been test ridden a few times in his current foster home, and he appears very green. He's improving with each ride and tries hard to please his rider. He's been quiet under saddle so far and has a lot of potential.
