About Dragonfly

Dragonfly was removed from negligent owners in a joint effort between BEHS and local law enforcement. Dragonfly was found living tied without access to food or water. He was rehabilitated quickly and was ready to head to the Bluebonnet Horse Expo when he developed neurological problems. We had to make the difficult decision to let him go. He will be missed by all who knew him!

Evaluation and Training

Dragonfly came to BEHS in 2012 from a neglect case. His spent several months staked on the side of a road with no food and rarely enough water. Fortunately once he arrived at BEHS, he gained weight quickly and blossomed into a gorgeous horse. He was a stallion when he arrived, but he’s never acted studdy and was gelded in September 2012. He’s been out with geldings and done fine – although he hasn’t yet been in a mixed herd. Dragonfly is a little nervous with the farrier, but he will stand tied for grooming and fly spraying. He’s easy to saddle and works well in a round pen. He will not stand still for a rider to mount, and he has not yet been test-ridden. His foster home will keep working with him, and if we find that he’s broke to ride, his adoption fee will go up. He’s such a gorgeous mover that he would be a beautiful driving or riding pony if someone took time to train him.He is too thin to evaluate yet.
