About Dolly
Dolly was surrendered to BEHS when her owners were being investigated for neglect. For Dolly, the third time's the charm! She came into the rescue in our Arkansas branch in 2008 as part of a neglect case. She was adopted and then rehomed when her adopter moved out of state. The person she was rehomed with couldn't keep her, so she went back into a foster home. Over the past several months, she's been working to win over her foster 'mom'. And this week she joins BEHS adopted horses Phoenix, Braveheart, Piclo, and Dixie as part of a happy BEHS adopted family!
Evaluation and Training
Dolly spent two months with a trainer in the summer of 2012. She came home green under saddle but doing well. She's a bit lazy under saddle and rarely spooks. She stops and backs well, but she's green and still needs fine-tuning especially on turning. While at the trainers, she did go on several trail rides and did well - no spooking or acting silly. She is friendly with people and very friendly (although a bit pushy). She's easy to lead, catch, tie, trailer, trim and bathe.
